To celebrate the release of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Nintendo sadly hasn't unveiled a new Super Mario Galaxy bundle or limited-edition Switch 2. But it's not all doom and gloom.
Nintendo did announce that starting April 12, 2026, it's dropping a rare limited-time offer that takes $20 off the Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection on Switch instead. The catch? You have to add a copy of the game and a Nintendo Switch 2 to your online shopping basket. Basically, instead of dropping $69.99 at Best Buy for the game, you'll be spending $49.99 instead, along with the full $449.99 price of the Switch 2. Out of all the deals in the universe, I'd have preferred an exclusive Switch 2 covered in Princess Rosalina's adorable Lumas, but any saving off a game that rarely sees discounts is better than nothing.
There's no discount on the Nintendo Switch 2 currently at Best Buy. However, adding the standalone handheld to your basket and checking out alongside a copy of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the Switch will save you $20 off your total starting April 12.
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2: $69.99 at Best Buy
This offer is available from April 12 to May 9 at a range of US retailers, including Amazon US, Best Buy, Target, GameStop, and Walmart - all the stores we typically cover here when it comes to best Nintendo Switch bundle deals and discounts. Starting from April 12, you just have to check out with both items in your basket (like the examples from Best Buy I've included above), and you should see $20 taken off your total before you spend all your hard-earned coins.
The neat thing about this official Nintendo offer is that it doesn't just apply to the physical version of the game. If you add the digital version of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the Switch available for $69.99 (Best Buy) to your basket along with the handheld come April 12, you'll get that same $20 off. Both the physical and digital versions of the game will still grant you access to the free-to-download Switch 2 upgrade, which comes with improved visuals and allows you to use the Switch 2 Joy-Con mouse controls.
If you've been eager to replay the iconic Wii games since watching the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie, this is one of the best incoming deals, but it's not the only one. If you've already got a Nintendo Switch 2, you can grab just the game for just $54.99 at Woot, saving $15 off its full $69.99 MSRP.
Better yet, you don't have to wait until April 12, as the deal is available right this very moment and will be for 7 more days or until stock runs out. It's not $20 off, but it's pretty close. You will be stuck with a physical copy in this case, so you digital-only fans will have to make do with remembering to pop in the cartridge every time you want to relive the Wii classics. But it's worth it if you want to revisit the Comet Observatory and check in with Rosalina and friends.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
