Luxury mechanical keyboards can cost hundreds, check your deck for this cheaper upgrade
No need to buy a whole new deck
Many mechanical keyboards bought in the last few years are hot-swappable, so - rather than buying a whole new deck this Prime Day, it's well worth seeing yours can simply take a new set of switches as an upgrade. Sure, the best gaming keyboards benefit from super-speedy clackers, but everyday typing devices deserve a little luxury as well.
After all, shelling out for a whole new typing experience can rack up quite the bill if you're just looking to swap to a different feel or actuation speed. While custom decks will run you into the hundreds, even cheaper off-the-shelf mechanical decks can still take you well over the $50 price range.
Of course, so can some switch sets. You'll find a good spread of some of my favorite linear, tactile, and clicky mechanical keyboard switches just below, spanning the premium to the budget. I've also kept my roster limited to Amazon, to make the most of early Prime Day gaming deals.
