Friday 12 January 2007
We're pretty sure that we don't really need to advise you to hunt out games like GTA IV, Halo 3 and Super Mario Galaxy in 2007 - we've got a sneaky feeling that you'll be smart enough to do that without our wise words of professional guidance. Right...?
Instead of pointing you to the blindingly obvious for our forecast of the potentially great games that'll be keeping your digits in shape over the next 12 months, we thought it would be infinitely more useful if we highlighted the titles that have stoked our interest, but haven't had the same hefty amount of lip service, cover splashes or web space as those that seem to hog the limelight with residency.
You might not find the comfortably familiar franchises or the blatant blockbusters here but hopefully you will discover some buried treasures that you hadn't heard of before. Or maybe you'd never considered them worthy of attention or had simply forgotten about them after reading another article convincing you that Metal Gear Solid 4/BioShock/Crysis/Metroid Prime 3 etc, etc, etc is going to be more essential than oxygen.
So, venture forth intrepid reader and broaden your gaming horizons for the year ahead...
