Deadlock scores another win with new hero Celeste, a dazzling unicorn-horned performer whose bhopping is so good fans are counting down the days until Valve nerfs her: "It is EXTREMELY overpowered"

As if the recent addition of Deadlock's adorable new hero, who specializes in naps and pillow fights, wasn't enough, Valve has added yet another character for us all to obsess over – and this time, she's a dazzling unicorn lady who can bunnyhop.

If you haven't heard the news yet, Celeste won the latest round of community voting (much to Apollo stans' dismay) and made her way into Deadlock as per its gradual hero rollout system.

Six new characters total are coming as part of the huge Old Gods, New Blood update, with Celeste being one of the final two after necromancer hero Graves, werewolf-like character Silver, arms expert Venator, and the ever-sleepy Rem.

So, what does Celeste bring to the table? As per her accompanying introduction on Steam, she features moves like Light Eater, "where a deep breath lit by her blazing baton coats enemies in front of her, and grants increased damage against them."

Her kit also includes Dazzling Trick, an explosive shield that silences enemies, Radiant Daggers, which rain down on foes from above, and Shining Wonder – an especially deadly orb of light.

The thing that's really got the community impressed (and afraid), though, is her movement – and her, uh, Bronx accent? A Reddit thread sees folks point out that, yes, she has a "NEW YAWK ACCENT," and she can effectively strafe and bunnyhop, much like something you'd see in Counter-Strike 2.

As one fan puts it so eloquently, "She can bhop like crazy." Another says Celeste "has 100% air movement control," with "bhopping montages incoming."

Honestly, yeah – they probably are. A few fans are worried the new Deadlock hero might just be a bit too good, however. Under a separate online thread showcasing her nifty moves, one person writes, "This is gonna get nerfed or tuned down in some way," stating the bhopping "is EXTREMELY overpowered (but also very fun)."

Plenty of other people are praising Celeste's design, too, with a post elsewhere describing how "Valve just can't stop cooking."

I mean, I agree. Now we only need to get Apollo out on the frontlines with the rest of the six new heroes, and Deadlock's big Old Gods, New Blood update will finally be complete. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a unicorn-horned performer to go play as.

Here are some of the other most exciting new games this year and beyond to keep an eye on if you want even more to look forward to after Deadlock.
