Minecraft-inspired survival RPG Everwind is getting a massive new update ahead of its 1.0 release
It's sandbox time
Everwind, an RPG survival sandbox game that launched into Early Access earlier this year, is getting its second major update in early September.
Confirmed during the Future Games Show at Gamescom, the console versions of the game are confirmed to launch in 2027, which is when we should also expect the 1.0 release of the game.
If you've been out of the loop on Everwind, it's a first-person survival sandbox where you have a flying ship as a mobile base that's fully customizable. You'll need it too, as the world has been split into flying islands that you'll need to traverse in order to find resources, go dungeon crawling, face bosses, and more.
There's a full RPG skill tree with levelling and character classes too, so the customization isn't just limited to your ship. The voxel-based world is also procedurally generated and destructible too.
As for the big September update, there'll be a new bandit faction added, along with the sandbox Creative Mode, a new navigation mechanic called Steamer Localizer that'll help you make it easier to locate important places in the world, new unique items, weapons and enemies, as well as the first steps towards mod support.
You can play Everwind right now in Early Access on Steam, and for more info you can sign up to the game's Discord. The full version 1.0 is due in Q1 2027, with console versions also due sometime next year.
