How long is Nioh 3? That will depend whether you're focused on a standard playthrough, only want to do the story, or are planning on doing a 100% completionist run. Nioh 3 is a game that's far more of an open sandbox than previous entries in the series, with plenty more to find as a result. No matter what kind of playthrough you've got in mind, we'll explain how long to beat the game you can expect.
How long to beat Nioh 3?
Nioh 3 will take vastly different times to beat depending on what kind of playthrough you're planning, but below you'll find reliable estimates for every eventuality:
- Just Story/Main Campaign: 50-60 hours
- Standard playthrough (main story + some side content): 60-80 hours
- 100% completion: 90-100 hours
This comes from Luke Kemp, who reviewed Nioh 3 for GamesRadar+ and has a pretty complete experience of the game. We should be clear though that the numbers above are averages, and that Nioh 3 has two factors that will mean some pretty substantial variations in how long it takes you to beat it versus others: firstly, like all of the Nioh games, it's high difficulty, meaning some may really struggle to overcome its challenges. Secondly, unlike other Nioh games, it's open world, so players are more encouraged to go searching to find all the best skills in Nioh 3, to generally get lost, and to wander off the beaten track. Of course, how much they engage with that additional content is up to them.

Joel Franey is a writer, journalist, podcaster and Very Tired Man with a BA from Brunel University, a Masters from Sussex University and a decade working in games journalism, often focused on guides coverage but also in reviews, features and news. His love of games is strongest when it comes to groundbreaking narratives like Disco Elysium, UnderTale and Baldur's Gate 3, as well as innovative or refined gameplay experiences like XCOM, Sifu, Arkham Asylum or Slay the Spire. He is a firm believer that the vast majority of games would be improved by adding a grappling hook, and if they already have one, they should probably add another just to be safe. You can find old work of his at Eurogamer, Gfinity, USgamer, SFX Magazine, RPS, Dicebreaker, VG247, and more.
