Steam hit Windrose won't get a major update for "at least 6 months" as devs focus on fixing the problems their open-world pirate survival game already has
A fresh patch is due in the coming days as well
A pirate's life isn't easy, what with the roughshod sailing and treacherous adventuring seeking gold and silver of any description. In an effort to make things easier for the hundreds of thousands of wannabe Captain Blackbeards in the game's community, the Windrose devs have introduced a new resource for troubleshooting, and there's a fresh patch of fixes on the way.
The Windrose Support site does what it says in the title - you hop in, pick your line of inquiry, and go from there. There are established, detailed answers for a long list of known problems, and you have the option of submitting your own if you've found something more specific than what's covered.
"As this tool is rather complex and new, please expect some bugs here and there, and for now it is localized in English only, however, as we put it to real use, it will be improved," developer Kraken Express says in a post on Steam.

Having a quick browse through the site, it's a strong foundation for what'll no doubt become a lifeline in the months ahead, if Windrose's player-base remains anywhere near current numbers.
The aim is for the next patch to roll out this week, but there are no promises, as it's currently being tested. It'll cover connectivity problems, CPU usage, disc usage, performance problems, and numerous other smaller issues.
Since eager players have already managed to complete all the narrative aspects currently available, Kraken Express took some time to address when the first big expansion will arrive. Short version: it might be while.
"Our philosophy now is to enrich the current gameplay systems, instead of only adding new biomes with the respective content, so even before we have the full details, it’s safe to say the game will not just grow in size – it will also evolve," the studio states.

"The scope of what we want to do is rather ambitious, so our best bet right now this update will take at least 6 months to deliver. This might sound like a long time, but we believe it will allow us to roll out an exciting and meaningful expansion to the game of appropriate quality."
