Possible new GTA 6 details continue to come early from European retailers as another says Rockstar's next game has performance and quality modes, but I'm not buying it
Not that it'd be surprising, but I don't think this confirms it
A European retailer has included a blurb about performance and quality modes on its GTA 6 store page, suggesting Rockstar Games' open-world title may feature the modes.
As spotted by a ResetEra user, Media Markt Poland included a now-deleted Q&A on its GTA 6 store page, which included the following: "By purchasing the console version, you can be sure that you are getting a product polished down to the smallest detail. GTA VI on next-generation consoles offers two graphics modes to choose from (Performance and Quality), support for DualSense controller features on PS5, providing realistic haptic feedback vibrations, and extremely fast loading screens thanks to the power of SSD storage."
Obviously, differing graphical modes have been a thing on consoles for about a decade now, since the advent of the PS4 Pro, so it's not a huge stretch to imagine any upcoming game would have it. However, it's mainly interesting since Rockstar's previous game, Red Dead Redemption 2, never featured these modes on the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X, or when played in backwards compatibility mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X. And given Rockstar is one of the more particular developers out there, it wouldn't be entirely shocking if the developer had balanced the game around a singular performance mode it deems the best way to play.
However, I don't really buy it. The store page Q&A sounds a bit generic, not to mention the opening line "By purchasing the console version," which would be a bit unnecessary since, as of right now, GTA 6 isn't coming to PC (obviously it will, but later for those sweet double dips). This could easily be a generic blurb for any current game as a placeholder, especially when there's no mention of the PS5 Pro.
That isn't to say the game won't have performance and quality modes, but I wouldn't take this retailer listing as gospel just yet.
