Gears of War E-Day pre-orders are live, but PS5 players will have to sit this one out
Gears of War E-Day launches October 6
US: $69 at Best Buy (Includes Open-Beta)
UK: £59.99 at Amazon (Includes Open-Beta)
20 years after the original Gears of War launched on Xbox, the brand-new Gears of War E-Day is coming to the Xbox Series X/S this October 6, 2026.
The game was rated for both the Xbox and the PS5 earlier this week, which is typically a nod that it's coming to both consoles. However, there was no PS5 version mentioned at the Gears of War E-Day Direct showcase, and Xbox Wire Editor-in-Chief Joe Skrebels stated that it, alongside the upcoming Clockwork Revolution, will be "XBOX console exclusives" and not timed ones.
While that's a bit of a bummer, Xbox fans can grab the standard edition available for $69 (Walmart) / £59.99 (Amazon) or a digital-only Premium Edition right now. The Premium version includes 5 Days Early Access, alongside a slew of in-game cosmetics, including a Death’s Rendezvous skin for Marcus and a Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack to add to your in-game arsenal. But the biggest of Gears fans will want to get their hands on the Collector's Edition.
The Gears of War E-Day Collector's Edition features a 15-inch diorama statue of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago that can be equipped with 3 AAA batteries to turn into a brutal spectacle for the eyes. There's also a 1:1 scale replica of Carlos Santiago’s COG tags and even a thank you note from developers The Coalition thrown in too. The catch? It's out of stock already, though there are Steam versions available for £249.99 (Xbox) for PC players. In case stock makes a comeback, and to find the best Gears of War E-Day pre-order deals, I've gathered all the US and UK pre-order links down below.
Gears of War E-Day Collector's Edition
Gears of War E-Day Collector's Edition | £249.99 at Xbox
The Gears of War Collector's Edition is an Xbox Gear Store exclusive and has already sold for Xbox in both the US and UK.
However, you can sign up to be notified of any restocks, or you can alternatively pick up the Steam version for £249.99 instead if you're desperate to add the light-up 15-inch collectible diorama statue of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago to your collection. It also includes a digital code for the base game for your Steam account.
Gears of War E-Day US pre-orders
Gears of War E-Day | $69.99 at Amazon
Amazon was quick to drop its Gears of War E-Day standard edition pre-order, which includes early access to the Gears of War: E-Day Open Beta kicking off on August 6th, alongside the character and weapon skin bonuses. If you're a Prime member, you can also take advantage of speedy delivery to ensure you play on (or as close to) October 6 as possible.
Gears of War E-Day | $69 at Best Buy
Best Buy is one of the best places to grab your Gears of War E-Day pre-order for the lowest price, though it's only 99 cents less than normal. It's the smallest saving, all things considered, but that's still 99 cents that could go towards another new Xbox game.
Gears of War E-Day | $69 at Walmart
If you'd prefer to shave off 99 cents from your Gears of War E-Day pre-order, the Xbox game is available for just $69 at Walmart. The only catch is that the product page states the game will ship a day after release, so you'll have to be patient.
Gears of War E-Day | $69.99 at GameStop
If you're comfortable waiting 2-3 days after release to play it, you can grab your Gears of War E-Day pre-order from GameStop. There are no pre-launch discounts to be found, but you can at least take advantage of the retailer's free delivery service.
Gears of War E-Day UK pre-orders
Gears of War E-Day | £59.99 at Amazon
Gears of War E-Day is available to pre-order right now at Amazon in the UK, where you can take advantage of your speedy delivery if you're a Prime member, and secure your access to the Open Beta on 6th August. UK Amazon has been getting better at posting on release day too, so this is one of the best options for those who need to play on release day.
Gears of War E-Day | £59.99 at Very
Very dropped its Gears of War E-Day pre-order not so long after the Direct finished airing, but there are no early discounts to be found here like the UK retailer is known for. That being said, you can still make use of Very's free shipping.
Gears of War E-Day | £59.99 at Currys
Currys can take a little longer than most UK retailers to drop pre-orders for the latest games, and Gears of War E-Day seems to be no exception. It's yet to make an appearance at the site, but I'll be checking back in regularly to update this page the moment that changes.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
