Control Resonant pre-orders come with a lavish SteelBook edition ahead of its September release
Control Resonant launches September 24
The mind-melting world of Remedy's Control is back for a sequel with Control Resonant, which is set to launch on September 24, 2026.
Control Resonate pre-orders are now live, and there are a few different versions out there for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. To start with, there's the traditional standard edition available for $59.99 (Amazon) / £44.99 (Smyths Toys) on the PS5 and $59.99 (Amazon) / £44.99 (Smyths Toys) on the Xbox Series X.
If you care more about cool collectibles than saving cash, the Amazon Exclusive version available for £49.99 (Amazon) in the UK includes an art print in the box, alongside a collectible slip case.
By spending $10 / £10 more at Amazon and a slew of other US and UK retailers, you can alternatively pick up the SteelBook version, which includes not one but three art prints in total, alongside a poster, and a stylish alternative case for the game.
There's no Collector's Edition this time around, so the SteelBook version is as good as it gets for swag-hunters. However, Remedy is known for producing some weird and exclusive merch based on its games. The Alan Wake 2 Thermos, anyone? So it wouldn't be entirely unheard of for the studio to produce some exclusive Control Resonant-themed goodies in the future. If a Collector's Edition is revealed closer to September, I'll be sure to let you know.
Control Resonant pre-orders in the US
Control Resonant | $59.99 at Amazon
There's no early discounts to be found at US retailers, so $59.99 is the best you're going to get for Control Resonant so far. With that in mind, I recommend grabbing your pre-order through Amazon as while you have to pay full price, if you have Prime at hand you can ensure it'll arrive on (or as close to) release day as possible.
Control Resonant | $59.99 at Amazon
The best place to grab your Xbox Series X Control Resonant pre-order is also through Amazon, as you can take advantage of speedy shipping if you're a Prime member. Not to mention, the upcoming game is part of the retailer's Pre-order Price Guarantee, so you'll get the lowest price available should the MSRP change between now and September 24.
Control Resonant SteelBook Edition | $69.99 at Amazon
If you'd prefer to get your hands on a flashier version of the game, you can grab your Control Resonant SteelBook Edition pre-order through Amazon too. This version is $10 more, but you get three fine art prints in the box, alongside a poster, and of course, that exclusive steelbook case design.
Control Resonant SteelBook Edition | $69.99 at Best Buy
The best place to grab your Control Resonant SteelBook Edition pre-order is through Best Buy for its full $69.99 price. Other retailers have already sold out of the Xbox Series X copy, but Best Buy has plenty of stock, and you can take advantage of the fact that it should arrive on, or as close to release, as possible.
Control Resonant pre-orders in the UK
Control Resonant | £44.99 at Smyths Toys
The best place to grab your PS5 Control Resonant pre-order if you want the best price is at Smyths Toys. Right now, the UK retailer has the standard edition for as low as £44.99, instead of its full £49.99 MSRP. That means you're saving £5 off, which isn't a lot, but it's still a fiver you could put towards another pre-order.
Control Resonant | £44.99 at Smyths Toys
Smyths Toys also has the Xbox Series X version of Control Resonant available to pre-order for just £44.99 today. With no hidden shipping costs like other UK retailers, this remains the best deal available for the standard edition so far.
Control Resonant SteelBook Edition | £59.99 at Amazon
Strangely, I cannot find the standard edition of Control Resonant at Amazon, but the SteelBook Edition is a different story. It's available for its full £59.99 price at Besoz HQ, and comes with the same exclusive case, three premium art prints, and a poster featuring key art from the game as the US version.
Control Resonant SteelBook Edition | £59.99 at Amazon
If you want to secure your Control Resonant SteelBook Edition for the Xbox instead, I recommend sticking with Amazon in the UK. There are no discounts off its full price, but the UK retailer has been getting better at ensuring pre-orders arrive on release day if you're desperate to play on day one.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
