The Sims 2: Pets is the newest addition to the Sims family, but it isn't just an irresistible add-on to your Sims' mansion. Just like in real life, these four-legged friends promise to add unpredictable entertainment to your Sims universe.

These new Sims 2: Pets images show the amount of customization and variety you'll find in Pets. Your furry friends will come in a wide range of both dog and cat breeds, in addition to chatty birds, not-so-chatty fish and cuddly Guinea Pigs. And just like your bipedal Sims, you'll be able to choose hair color, size and shape, in addition to personality traits.

Your new pals will require lots of attention, but at the same time provide love and entertainment for your equally needy human Sims. Kittens and puppies seem born to misbehave, but you can train up these little hooligans to someday be Hollywood superstars - or leave them to become neighborhood-shredding menaces.

The Sims 2: Pets gets its paws all over us on October 17, 2006, when it ships to retail.
