Square Enix has put out some new stills from Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy 15 (via Siliconera), the prequel CGI film that will introduce us to the world of the game, and hot dog do they look nice. Square has always had a knack for making some fine computer graphics, and the company is really at the top of its game here.
It's the relatively mundane moments like a couple characters sitting in a car that really leave me awestruck. Obviously making them seem so incredibly real will be much more complicated when they're moving around and talking and fighting gigantic Final Fantasy monsters (even Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within still looks pretty good when you pause it), but the pictures cannot be denied.

Kingsglaive will premiere over the summer in Japanese theaters and will get a Blu-ray and digital release out West - presumably before Final Fantasy 15 is released on September 30.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and was formerly a staff writer at GamesRadar+.
