Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox has an unpopular opinion about season 1 – he didn't like the bank heist episode. In fact, he thought it was "really dumb."
"I was not a fan of the bank episode in season 1 of Born Again," Cox admitted during a panel at C2E2 2026 (via Popverse), referring to episode 5, 'With Interest.' "I thought it was really dumb, and I really fought against doing it in a polite way. I did end up watching it because I had to know, because I was told that when they were testing the show it was one of the highest tested episodes of Marvel Television. And I kind of get it. It’s binge-y. I had problems with it though."
In the episode, Matt Murdock's trip to the bank to discuss a loan for his law firm is interrupted by a good old fashioned heist: a group of criminals is trying to steal a rare diamond from the bank's vault in order to pay off a rival gang leader. Just when it seems they've gotten away with it, Daredevil intervenes and secretly returns the diamond. All's well that ends well.

"Anyway, whatever happened, I posed the question, 'If they already had both keys, why didn’t they just go to the vault and take the thing they originally wanted?' Because they had both keys, because they switched the things around. The answer was a very prolonged silence until someone was like, 'Uh huh. Yes.'"

With Matt in hiding and an anti-vigilante task force wreaking havoc on the streets, it's not looking good for the city. And there are some new players to contend with, too – namely Matthew Lillard's mysterious Mr. Charles...
