A treat for fans of animated filmmaking has landed online, with Disney’s Oscar-nominated short Paperman now available to watch in full.
Directed by John Kahrs the film blends traditional 2D animation with computer-generated imagery to eye-pleasing effect. It really is gorgeous to look at.
The short tells the story of a lonely young man living in mid-20th Century New York who meets a beautiful stranger during his morning commute to work.
Expecting never to see her again, he is stunned to find that she works in the office across the street from his. And with only a stack of paper to work with, he sets about trying to gain her attention.
Take a look at the short below:
Rather lovely, isn’t it? You can find out whether Kahrs’ film scoops an Academy Award when the gongs are handed out on 24 February 2013.
Or you can also catch the whole thing on the big screen before every theatrical screening of Wreck-It Ralph .
