Hidetaka Suehiro, better known among Japanese fans as Swery65, has announced his next role as director of an upcoming action RPG for the PSP and PlayStation Vita. Swery65's best-known work, of course, is as the designer of cult survival horror thriller Deadly Premonition. Where do you go from that title's schizophrenia, mutilation and American Gothic horror? Something called Lord of Apocalypse sounds appropriate enough – here's the Japanese announce trailer.
The title, published by Square Enix, is a sequel to PSP ARPG Lord of Arcana. If Apocalypse is in the same vein as its predecessor, it'll be a rather more conventional affair than Premonition – but with Swery65 having recentlyteased fans with his ideas for continuing Premonition's story, don't think Lord of Apocalypse marks the designer's full-time return to the comprehensible or mundane. Lord of Apocalypse is scheduled as a Japanese release title for the PS Vita, though no Western date's been set yet.
