Dane DeHaan has been talking about his experiences so far with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , including his reaction to Chris Cooper being cast as his dad!
“I haven’t actually started filming,” revealed DeHaan. “I start like super soon. They have me in preparations, but my first day on set is coming up.
“I met Chris Cooper on my first ever movie, Amigo , which had a budget of $1 million, so in a way it’s all come full circle in an awesome way. I have mad respect for Chris Cooper… he’s amazing.”
And as for his reaction to the script, DeHaan is similarly effusive. “It’s awesome, I mean it really is. It’s human and it’s deep and it’s epic, and also a huge superhero movie. It all makes sense and all comes from very human elements.”
DeHaan will of course be playing Peter Parker’s buddy, Harry Osborn, with Cooper as his industrialist father, Norman. Although whether they stay friendly throughout the course of the movie remains to be seen.
Directed by Mar c Webb and co-starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open in the UK on 18 April 2014.
