Bryan Singer filming X-Men: Apocalypse sequel in 2017?

X-Men: Apocalypse is one of next year's most-anticipated movies and it seems that 20th Century Fox are confident it will be a hit, as Le Journal de Montreal are reporting that another X-Men film will be shooting in 2017 with Bryan Singer at the helm.

Mel Studios president, Michel Trudel let the cat out of the bag saying: "It was a miracle that we managed to attract the movie X-Men in Montreal in 2013. To convince Fox to return for a second and now a third is simply amazing". If there is indeed another X-Men film in the works, the question of whether or not Singer will even be available to helm it is a legitimate one, as the director will next be calling the shots on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Although a release date of 2018 is reportedly pencilled in for Singer's third X-Men film, that may well change in the coming months.

Directed by Singer and starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Apocalypse will be released in UK cinemas on May 19 2016 before making its way to US theatres on May 27 2016.
