Okay, so he might be suave, he might have the ice-blue eyes, but the new 007, Daniel Craig, no longer has any front teeth.
A source on the set of the latest Bond mission, Casino Royale, told the press: “Daniel was filming with some minor actors when he got hit in the face. He was reeling from a heavy blow and staggered back holding his face. He put his hand to his mouth but the blood started to seep through his fingers - it was horrible.”
Craig was rehearsing his first fight scene when the drama unfolded - the Layer Cake star was forced to make a mercy call to his London dentist who jumped on a plane to the Czech Republic to fit a set of caps.
As we announced last week, the long search for the latest Bond girl came to an end, with Eva Green joining the Casino cast. Producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said they were “…thrilled that Eva has joined a first rate, international cast.”
Someone who doesn’t seem so thrilled is Casino Royale script doctor Paul Haggis. After collecting his BAFTA on Sunday night, the Crash helmer, standing alongside Bond hopeful Thandie Newton, said of the casting: “I think we all know who I was rooting for” and nodded his head towards Newton. Thandie simply shrugged her shoulders and admitted: “That ship has sailed I’m afraid - it’s a shame.”
