Here's how to play the top-down shooter hidden in Black Ops 3

Everything about Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is meant to be bigger and more ludicrous than its predecessors, including the secret arcade shooter minigame. Dead Ops Arcade 2: Cyber's Avengening is another Smash TV-inspired shoot-em-up, though this time it takes extra care to establish its arcade cred with a pixelated story of love and loss before dropping you into the top-down arena.

Just like in the original Black Ops, you'll need to bust out your video game hacking skills to access the secret mode - by which I mean you need to click on the Data Vault icon on the main screen. We're in.

For all the serious (and mysterious) hype around Black Ops 3, it's good to see that Activision and Treyarch are still putting some of their vast resources toward some really bizarre stuff - like making a "first-person mode" power-up for the twin-stick shooter hidden inside their first-person shooter.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
