Last year, we reported that God of War developer Santa Monica Studio lent its coding axe to Team Ico's The Last Guardian. That was from a Wired interview, wherein Sony president of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida said Santa Monica and other internal developers were helping get the repeatedly delayed game out the door.
Apparently that isn't actually the case--at least, not to the degree implied.
"I'm never really sure how that got in the press, because as far as I'm aware we're not helping out with The Last Guardian," director of technology at Santa Monica Studio Tim Moss said to Eurogamer. "The only way you can say that is the knowledge that we contribute back to the central tech groups benefits The Last Guardian. So I'm guessing someone was slightly misquoted."
This also seems an appropriate time to note we haven't yet seen whatever lead designer Fumito Ueda asked us to keep our eyes open for last month.
