Wolfenstein: The New Order's brilliant, playable old-school Easter egg

Wolfenstein: The New Order is pretty damn great. I can say that officially now that Ryan’s review is out. You can check out his words and video here, but in a nutshell, The New Order is a rollicking good time; a brilliantly pitched blend of old-school carnage and modern design intelligence. It’s well recommended.

But jumping off from talk of its heady blend of eras, there’s a damnably fun Easter egg tucked away that ties all of that stuff together brilliantly. A little later in the game, a dream sequence accessed through the rebel base area gives way to a playable recreation of the original Wolfenstein 3D, lovingly--and bizarrely--rendered by a slick do-over of the ’92 game’s graphics infused with its brand new sequel’s gunplay. Want to play it? Of course you do. So check out our video to see exactly where and how to find it.
