Ping from the Radar - Letter from the Editor

Dear readers,

It's been a while since I've written anything, but I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a healthy and happy new year and to thank you for coming to GamesRadar+ to read, comment, and share our stories. Without you, we wouldn't be here, and you are the reason we push ourselves to provide you with timely, insightful, and thoughtful articles and videos. We love to hear your feedback and enjoy engaging with you on the site, Twitch, Facebook, and Twitter. From everyone on GamesRadar+, thank you. We're all extremely excited to be starting the new year by celebrating the fact that the past November and December were our most successful months EVER! It's a reflection of the team's hard work and your continued loyalty, and I'm proud of how far we've come.

I can't believe how quickly the time has passed since I began working here in October of 2011. So much has changed in the last four years! The staff for one, and I will forever hate all of you for making me play Slender Man and P.T. It has been such an honor and a privilege to work with the team here at GamesRadar+ and to serve you, the reader. The editorial team's passion, enthusiasm, kindness, and delightful (maybe a bit too punny) sense of humor is what motivates me to come into the office.

It's been such a tremendous experience and I've loved every second of it, but it's time for me to move on and do something new. I will still stay at Future, and be helping GamesRadar+ and our sister sites like PC Gamer and Techradar in new ways. I leave GamesRadar+ in the very capable hands of Dan Dawkins, who will be taking my place as Global Editor in Chief. He'll be supported by Andy Hartup, Susan Arendt, Ludwig Kietzmann, and the rest of the gang. They're talented and amazing individuals, and I know they will continue to thrive with the site for years to come.

A big thank you to my team for all the laughs, livestreams, Magic the Gatherings, and support over the years. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go play more Destiny now.

Warm regards,
Sophia
