The new trailer for NetherRealm Studios' Mortal Kombat reboot rehashes the backstory for series hero Liu Kang. While the details on show are hardly revelatory %26ndash; LK still has the same bitchin' MK2 bicycle-kick, still accompanied by the same strangled-turkey yelp %26ndash; the trailer provides a handy catch-up for MK neophytes and those whose mommas wouldn't let them play the original title on account of its tactical shallowness next to SF2 (or, you know, all the violence and murder).
Besides sneaking in a reference to the inevitable %26ldquo;collectable%26rdquo; edition, this trailer also debuts the dance track Liu Kang's Theme, hard-house DJ Congorock's contribution to the spin-off CD Mortal Kombat: Songs Inspired by the Warriors. Have a listen:
Whether you prefer Congorock's orientally-arranged offering over the rave anthem Born in China, the Kang-themed track from The Immortals' original Mortal Kombat: The Album, is entirely a matter of taste (and how many glow-sticks you went through in 1994).
Which do you prefer? Does the new trailer whet your appetite for more of the new MK? Let's hear what you think.
