Matt Bradford wrote news and features here at GamesRadar+ until 2016. Might and Delight isn't a name you're expected to know, but if you've ever played Mirror's Edge or dabbled in the Killzone and Battlefield series, you're already well acquainted with some of the talent behind this new indie studio. Now, nearly two years since its formation, the Swedish developer has revealed its debut game, Pid, an atmospheric robo-platformer which proves the Might and Delight team is taking their namesake seriously.

Pid tells the tale of a young boy who finds himself abandoned on a remote, robot-filled planet. To get back home, players must make friends, bound through dangerous 2D environments, and wield what the developers call a “powerful force” to thwart a sinister conspiracy and make it home in one piece. In addition to its solo campaign, the game will also feature a cooperative mode that will emphasize teamwork while allowing players to “wildly compete and test your retro skills against [their] fiends”.

Pid is being developed for a 2012 release on Xbox Live Arcade. More details about Might and Delight's freshman title have been posted on the newly launched site. You can also see how the development is progressing in these freshly pressed screenshots:
