French romcoms can sometimes seem as welcome in Britain as a fridge full of overripe Camembert. But after last year’s Populaire comes another bright, breezy farce.

Ludivine Sagnier stars as Julie, an aspiring artist on a flight home from New York to Paris who gets seated next to ex-boyfriend Antoine (Nicolas Bedos).

Before you can shout “Mon Dieu!”, there are recriminations about their acrimonious split and flashbacks aplenty to flesh out the backstory.

It’s hardly Working Title-slick, but Sagnier is appealing in her first real romantic role and there’s Gallic charm galore.
