The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD coming early next year

Nintendo opened up a treasure chest-full of Zelda information during today's Nintendo Direct, beginning with the announcement that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be hitting the Wii U in 2016.

Better visuals have been confirmed, as is typical with high definition upgrades, but this version of the GameCube/Wii classic will also include amiibo support. Not only will select Zelda-themed Smash Bros. amiibo work with Twilight Princess, but Nintendo is also releasing a special Wolf Link amiibo, specifically for the game's release.

No further details about what the amiibo will do in the game, or what additional features are coming to Twilight Princess HD, but Nintendo confirmed that certain data will transfer from Twilight Princess to the brand new Zelda game coming in 2016 via the Wolf Link amiibo.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be released on March 4th, 2016, and the physical copy of the game will be bundled with the Wolf Link amiibo. Preorders go live today, and preorders will include a special bonus soundtrack.
