Gearbox hiring up to start on the next big Borderlands

Gearbox is hiring for the next Borderlands game, and it doesn't look like another HD remake or interquel. Studio president Randy Pitchford invited developers of all stripes to apply for nearly two dozen contributing positions on "the big one".

The studio hasn't begun working on the next Borderlands game yet, but Pitchford said it 'wants to' in a PAX South panel attended by IGN. It may seem like a foregone conclusion to call the project Borderlands 3, but Pitchford said there's not much more to say about it at this point. Calling it "the big one" says enough by itself, don't you think?

Open positions range from concept artists to writers to level designers, at various levels of seniority. Feel free to check 'em out yourself - if you know what a Dev Ops Systems Engineer does, you're probably ahead of most of the competition.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel released in October 2014, though 2K Australia led work on the moon-hopping loot fest. Telltale Games' ongoing Tales from the Borderlands episodic adventure takes place after the events of Borderlands 2, which released in September 2012.

And don't forget Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which remasters Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel, for release on PS4 and Xbox One in March.
