A timely announcement for Halloween, as the Glee creators’ new horror show is renewed for 13 more episodes in 2012
US cable network FX has ordered a second 13-episode season of American Horror Story , the spooky new show from Glee creators Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy.
The show’s viewing figures have been growing week by week, with an average figure so far of 4.2 million viewers an episode. American Horror Story is on course to become the most successful first season of any FX show ever.
“It’s one thing to have the ambition and guts to reinvent a genre in a way that makes it captivatingly fresh for a broad audience; it's something else entirely to have the craft to back that ambition up,” said John Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks. “Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have hit the trifecta with Nip/Tuck , Glee and now American Horror Story , which will be scaring FX’s viewers to death for many years to come.”
American Horror Story starts airing in the UK on FX on Monday 7 November.
