Dead Island box art sanitized for North America
Gruesome lettering toned down in game logo
It’s possible that the image was changed, not to because it was too gruesome, but because of worries racially-charged imagery. The original art will still appear in-game in the North American version and on the European box art.

Dead Island’s gruesome imagery was also the center of discussion when the last trailer for the game released. The artful CG video begins with a young girl falling to her death from a hotel room window.
