The 2014 BAFTA nominations were announced this morning, and there were few surprises among the big hitters tipped for this year's gongs.

Gravity leads the way in terms of sheer number of nominations, scoring eleven across all categories, with 12 Years A Slave just behind on 10.

American Hustle performed predictably well across the acting categories, clocking up 10 nominations in total, while there was a milestone for Judi Dench, claiming her 15th acting nomination for her turn in Philomena , a BAFTA record.
