Ryse: Son of Rome - How fast can you die?

What doesn't kill you only makes the video longer

The all-important question of the moment

The all-important question of the moment

Speedrunning in the traditional sense is all well and good. But wouldn't it be more fun to see how quickly you can 'be out' in a video game? That's exactly what our HFCYDI video series aims to achieve. Each video starts with a new save file on a new Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii U game. The clock starts the instant the final button is pushed that exits the main menu and begins the game proper. The jokes that accompany the ensuing carnage are terrible. Those are the rules.

This week sees Ryse: Son of Rome attempt to gain the top spot on the table. But as you'll see if you check out the rest of the videos laid out here for your eyes to enjoy, it's up against some very tough competition. Check back every other Saturday for more!

The first ever HFCYDI. A piece of history so special we've embedded it here separately (definitely nothing to do with a glitch in the system *cough*):

Which games would you like to see?

So far we've been making HFCYDI videos using new releases. So which upcoming games would you like to see? And would you like to see a retro version where we take 16-bit or even 8-bit classics and give them the HFCYDI treatment? We'd love to know your thoughts.

And if you're looking for more, check out Exclusive: 25 crashes in GRID 2 and A beginner's guide to speedrunning.
