Lancme
After finishing her mahoosive campaign for Burberry, Watson was announced as the new face of French cosmetics brand Lancôme.
The company credited her "charm, romanticism and incredible modernity", as well as dropping in the fact that as she was born in Paris, she's basically a French icon. We think it might have something to do with being drop dead gorgeous, but sure, let's go with "incredibly modernity".
No Kissing Contract
During an interview just after the release of Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, Watson was quizzed about the possibility of having to face any onscreen snogs with either of her male co-stars.
Don't forget that this was long before the release of the final book, and sweet, naive Emma had absolutely no clue what was in store for her character, which almost makes her insistence even more hilarious: "Oh my God, no, no chance, no chance. That's not in my contract!" Next time you should read the small print, Watson.
Ballet Shoes (2007)
This BBC television movie was Watson's first venture outside of Potter, and naturally, all eyes were on her to see how she performed without her cloak and wand.
Based on Noel Streatfeild's classic 1936 novel of the same name, Watson played Pauline, the eldest of the three adopted Fossil children and an aspiring actress. Talk about meta.
She needed have worried about the reception, as the reviews were glowing: "The young star fits right in as the hopeful actress, giving the camera a tart offering of ego and combustible English pride."
J-Emma
Little did Emma Watson and Joseph Gordon Levitt know that when they stepped out on to the stage of the 86th Oscars they would inspire a whole new wave of adoration and a new dream Hollywood couple.
Looking every inch the movie star, Watson glided across that stage like a pro, and when JGL did his chivalrous little bow to her, we all decided that they should get married, have babies and be generally wonderful together forever.
Extra kudos goes to the pair for giving us our favourite Oscars selfie of the night. Forget Ellen's 3.4 million retweets.
FHM Accolade
Forget Academy Awards - the holy grail for any serious actress has to be a spot on men's magazine FHM's 100 Sexiest Women list. Are we right, ladies?
Lucky old Emma has appeared on the list for six years running - surely some kind of slightly pervy record. We can't help feeling that six years of celebrating Emma's sexy factor would go back long before she turned eighteen, but let's not focus on that too closely.
Burberry Contract
Once the Potter hullabaloo had started to die down, fashion houses across the globe were fighting it out to see who could grab the attention of this up-and-coming sartorial star, and it was British big-dogs Burberry who eventually landed the contract.
It was the perfect choice for Watson, as Burberry's classic (and importantly, classy) style matched perfectly with her own, and she was plastered on billboards worldwide. They even let her younger brother Alex join in for a few shoots, proving that even as an international model, Emma still likes to keep it in the family.
Snip Snip
Keen to throw off the Hermione tag that was sure to follow her around for the rest of her career, Emma Watson shocked everyone when she lopped off her trademark long locks for a Mia Farrow inspired pixie crop.
Seriously, who could ever have predicted the level of controversy over one, simple haircut - Watson was bombarded by journalists asking her if the new look was her way of coming out. Really?!
Acting 101
Talk about a reality check. You're part of the biggest movie franchise ever, you're on the front cover of every magazine, you're the face of Burberry, and you still have to audition for the school play?
Nevertheless, there were no diva cries of "don't you know who I am?!" here, as Watson said that "it was so nice to do something that was a little bit less pressurized than Harry Potter" as she prepared to take part in the college production of Chekhov's Three Sisters.
Working With Helena Bonham Carter
Watson batted off criticism from those who felt her performance as Hermione was sometimes stilted with one brutal scene. Bellatrix Lestrange (an impeccably cast Helena Bonham Carter) is a loose canon at the best of times, and her horribly intimate torture of Hermione was excruciating to watch, as Watson brought out all her big acting guns and lay on the ground, weeping in despair.
Watson spoke of her discomfort when filming the scene, saying that "It was very weirdly affecting to do that scene. It was quite horrible. I think even Helena said to me afterwards, she was like, 'I really didn’t enjoy doing that. I really didn't.' She usually gets very into that kind of evil stuff, but I think she felt quite uncomfortable.
