If a recent Games Rader hands-on preview of the Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 is to be believed, the game is looking better than it ever has. Writer Christian Nutt (har har) raved about his time with the game, saying it looked as good, if not better, than the already released PlayStation 3 game.
Today, Sega released a few new screens of the game and well, it looks ... not that bad. It doesn't look that great either, so what's up?

"Hi, there! I'm Tohru Murayama from SEGA AM-2. In this fourth installment of the VF5 developer diaries I'm going to talk about the Dojo mode this time.
Regarding the title "Dojo", which means training hall, I'm a bit worried since I have no idea to what extent it will be accepted. Those who love martial arts or professional wrestling would understand the term, but I don't think it is a well-known Japanese word like sushi or samurai. In short, a DOJO is the place for practice or training of Martial arts such as JUDO and KENDO (Japanese fencing). As far as the DOJO in VF5, this is the mode that lets you train the characters of your choosing."

Sega has announced that Virtua Fighter 5 will be published on the PlayStation 3 as a launch title in March ahead of an Xbox 360 release in late Winter.
Virtua Fighter 5 features stages from around the world where players face off in fast-moving martial arts battles against one of 17 characters. Two new characters join the elite group of fighters, adding unique fighting styles for players to try and master.

In a move that we're sure has caused surprise, shock and much gnashing of teeth inside Sony, Sega has announced that Virtua Fighter 5 is landing on Xbox 360 in the middle of next year.

Sega confirms the latest version of its VF series will now launch on Xbox 360, as well as PS3
Tecmo's Dead or Alive series is about to get some serious competition for the king of fighters' throne on Xbox 360 in the form of Virtua Fighter 5, previously a PS3 only title.
Hopefully, the fact that VF is spreading out on multiple platforms will give the DOA series a much needed kick up the arse. But Sega's legendary beat 'em up franchise has taken a few knocks of its own over the last few years. Maybe it's just that the genre as a whole has gone as far as it can?
