Viking: Battle for Asgard

Blood, guts and dragons

5 reasons to play Viking... even if you've never heard of it

5) Dragons!

Believe it or not, the power to cleave other warriors into pulsing, bloody chunks or spew ice, fire and lightning from your very pores isn't enough to conquer this game's world - it's a rough neighborhood. Luckily, you have one more ace up your sleeve. Okay, it's technically not up your sleeve so much as it is up in the sky, and it's not technically an ace. It's more of a huge, fire-blasting dragon that you can summon to swoop down and fricassee the crap out of whatever site you've targeted.

It's a limited power, simply because it has to be: if it wasn't it would make the rest of the gameplay pointless. But it's also incredibly useful for thinning out swarming crowds of baddies or blasting away nests of distant archers or magic users. It's also pretty damned empowering. Oh yeah - and there's more than one, which is pretty much the in-game equivalent of Dirty Harry giving his famous "Do you feel lucky, punk?" line and then pulling a rocket launcher out of his jacket pocket. Other games may give you sexier babes, fast cars, or guns, but you'd have a hard time finding one that makes you feel like a bigger badass.
