Going back to Xbox Live, what more can you tell us?
Dyack: The setup and layouts of enemies adjust dynamically on the fly depending on your level and the number of people you’re playing with. We allow customisation in the extreme - everything from copious weapons, armour, cybernetics and runic enhancements to specific epic sets and customised colour setting for the player. Rare item drops are one of the core concepts with co-op online play. And we’ve developed a robust system around this core.
You once said “Gamers don’t want long games anymore.” Is that still true?
Dyack: The average age of a gamer is now 33 years old - a far cry from the 16-year-olds in the early days of videogames, that had more free time. The current gamer may still love to play games, but also has a family and job that take higher priority. It’s our job, therefore, to create games that work within the average gamers’ lifestyle. We understand that some gamers may still want 40-hour games, but they are no longer in the majority.
Will the entire Too Human trilogy play out on the 360?
Dyack: Yes, the goal is to play out the entire trilogy on the 360. Too Human is not episodic; each Too Human game can stand alone as a great gaming experience. The first game is one of the best games we have made to date. We’re looking forward to unleashing Baldur on the world in 2008.
