Too Human is coming to Xbox 360 one week after GTA IV. This according to EB Games. In its weekly newsletter, EB Games solicits pre-orders for Silicon Knights' Too Human, claiming the game is shipping May 6. The entire text reads as follows:
Epic and licensee Silicon Knights (Too Human) have continued their engine-related court battle, with controversy over Epic being permitted to examine Silicon Knights' codebase, and Silicon Knights revealing it originally paid $750,000 to license Unreal Engine 3.
Major Nelson has posted the XBOX Live Marketplace Update for the 16th.
Too Human director Denis Dyack writes:
Epic Games had been looking to get Silicon Knights' lawsuit completely thrown out, but the court has decided to deny the request and the litigation will continue.
Just when gamers thought eight years of development and pending legal fights would keep this Norse-influenced technopunk game down, Too Human is set to resurface on Xbox Live as a six minute, 42 second video diary on the creative process of the game.
Epic has filed its latest court document, charging that Silicon Knights' last set of counterclaims should be disregarded not so much for its specific charges, but on the letter -- or lack thereof -- of the law itself...
Silicon Knights has filed a response to Epic Games' August counterclaim and motion to dismiss a case revolving around Unreal Engine 3 and Too Human, and blasted Epic's motion to dismiss with accusations of breach of contract, fraud and various other claims.
Too Human due in Q1 2008. Denis Dyack confirms Silicon Knights' long-in-the-making Xbox 360 action adventure is now slated for early next year, demo coming to Xbox Live.
Silicon Knights president Denis Dyack was just keeping it real when he confessed to IGN that the Too Human trilogy might drag on past the Xbox 360's life cycle. Ya think? The ongoing legal drama with Epic is just the latest hiccup in what's close to a decade-long project. (Silicon Knights began development in 1999 and first previewed Too Human, originally a 5-disc PlayStation game, at E3 in 2000.) But if Dyack's prediction comes true, if there is only one 'next next-gen' console, then at least future Too Human sequels will not be slowed by platform transitions.
Too Human is coming in 2008. Not 2009, 2010, or "2000-never" as some have speculated. This according to Silicon Knights founder Denis Dyack. Friday, Dyack responded to a negative post on the official Too Human message board stating that Too Human would be out and that a Marketplace demo was forthcoming.
Microsoft, which is not a party in the case between Silicon Knights and Epic, stated in an e-mail, "Regarding development of Too Human, we are still on track for a 2008 release date, as we announced most recently at E3 2007."
GameDaily BIZ has been in contact with Silicon Knights' attorney, Chris Holland, who informed them that Silicon Knights will stand its ground. Holland says the counterclaim from Epic is completely without merit and development on Too Human has not been affected. In fact, SK has created a "better" engine for the game as a result.
A soldier's story can be grim, yet compelling, bringing those fortunate not to witness the terrors of war closer to understanding what kind of hell it truly is. From cautionary classics such as, "All Quiet on the Western Front" and "Storm of Steel," to recent exposés like "Jarhead," "Bravo Two Zero," and "Blackhawk Down," war stories vary widely and go far beyond just the loss of innocence on the battlefield.
The Official Xbox Magazine for August have been sent out now. Whiles browsing through the pages to see what an amazing lineup of titles that are coming out this year for the 360..
The director of Silicon Knights, the developer of the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive game, Too Human, has talked in his latest blog about some of the new features that his team are implementing.
May through August are normally not a strong months for game releases. Well, it looks like that won't be the case this year for Xbox 360 owners.
IGN's Matt have posted an update on Too Human on his blog.
