360 - Rock Band - IGN: Bring on the Pixies (Rock Band DLC for Week of June 17) Hilary Goldstein from IGN writes:

"As far back as E3 2007, Harmonix promised weekly downloads for Rock Band following its launch. I didn't think it was possible. Harmonix has proven me wrong. Though new content has been made available just about every week since Rock Band hit store shelves last year, only two full albums have arrived on the RB store to date. And those two albums, Judas Priest's "Screaming for Vengeance" and The Cars' self-titled debut, aren't from high-profile artists. So where are the truly epic albums, the kind that seem to make every critic's top 100 list?

Look no further than next week's Rock Band DLC. The Pixies' "Doolittle" is coming. For 1520 Microsoft Points ($19) you can own the entire album. That's 14 master tracks to go along with "Wave of Mutilation," which is already included with Rock Band. Or you can pick and choose songs at 160 Microsoft Points ($2) per track."

360 - Rock Band - EA denies Rock Band PS3/PS2 September 26 release Back when the European launch of the Xbox 360 version was announced the press release stated Rock Band "will be available for additional platforms later this summer", which suggested a release window of June-August.

Online retailer Play.com has now sparked a rumour that non-Xbox 360 gamers will be waiting even longer for Rock Band, listing both the PS3 and PS2 versions for release on September 26.

There's no reason to be too concerned over the release date just yet though. EA told VideoGamer.com: "We haven't had any confirmation on that release date at all. We don't know where that's come from. That's definitely not confirmed."

360 - Rock Band - TV Ad Teases New Rock Band Tracks Some astute television watchers have discovered tantalizing clues about possible future downloadable Rock Band tracks.

According to posters on the official Rock Band and ScoreHero.com forums, an ad for the upcoming MTV2 Rock Band track pack -- which includes songs by Maximo Park, Them Terribles, The Materials and The Myriad ¿ showed glimpses of placeholder track names for four unannounced tracks.

"Aesthetics of Hate" by Machine Head, "Afterlife" by Avenged Sevenfold, "Breed" by Nirvana and "Burn" by Nine Inch Nails are apparently in the Rock Band queue.
IGN contacted Rock Band reps for official comment on the alleged TV leak, and got this response:

"As always Harmonix is dedicated to weekly DLC and has many songs in the works. No songs should be considered final or 'real' until they are announced officially through the forums, which happens every Friday at 2pm."

360 - Rock Band - Haze Beats Conan Despite the unenthusiastic and often mediocre reviews and scores given to Haze, according to Develop, the game developers news site, Haze has come in as a new entry at number 12,just under Rock Band, the highest climber. It even beat the mighty Age of Conan which has come in as a new entry at number 13.

Now that's not bad for a game with overall below average mixed reviews. Perhaps this is another indicator of reviewers being out of touch with what gamers in the real world get their kicks from.

360 - Rock Band - Rock Band DLC: Good, Bad, and Best-Selling, All in a Convenient List Ever wondered where your favorite Rock Band DLC places when matched up against the rest of the ever-growing pack? Now you can find out.

Now, you may be wondering, how do they figure this stuff out -- especially without Harmonix's involvement in their little project? Well, there's something about Y2K and monkeys, but put simply, they "diligently they look for the poor sap who recorded the worst score ever made on any given song. Then they proceed to cackle and write down the rank, it's kind of amusing." And while lowest rank doesn't necessarily equal number of downloads, it comes pretty close.
