The latest groups to join the ranks of Rock Band are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden and KISS. The three master tracks join the game's growing list of over 30 from a diverse range of bands.
In the latest OXM Podcast, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos confirms that the Xbox 360 guitars for Rock Band are wired in the bundles. There will be wired and wireless versions available for the Xbox 360, but once again, the retail bundles will come with a wired guitar. The PS3 guitars are all wireless. The Xbox 360 bundle will also come with a USB hub for all the peripherals to plug into. On both the Xbox 360 and PS3 version the microphone and drum kit will be wired. Rigopulos says, "The cost of wireless technology on the Microsoft side is higher and to be able to offer those bundles at a price point that would be reasonable for consumers it was necessary ... on the 360 side we are also bundling a hub."
As if Rock Band has not been hyped up enough already, now they are taking the game on a 24 state tour of the US where users can get a sneak peak at the game and some nice hands on time.
Gaming Target says: "Harmonix has announced they will be adding The Grateful Dead to Rock Band's lineup of "super groups" when the game ships this holiday season. Eighteen Grateful Dead master tracks will be available for download shortly after the game's release. Harmonix didn't reveal all of them, but did confirm that the following six will be downloadable: "Casey Jones," "Sugar Magnolia," "Touch of Grey," "Truckin'" and "Uncle John's Band."
At the GDC, EA and Harmonix have revealed 10 new tracks for their upcoming game, Rock Band.
Charles Huang cofounder of RedOctane isn't a fan of Electronic Arts taking credit for the upcoming Rock Band game. He said that calling it an EA title is "misleading." Huang also talks about the process of incorporating Xbox 360 wireless into the guitar for GHIII and more.
HMXSean the community forum leader for Harmonix on the official Rock Band forums, has said that the article from dailygaming.net is absolutely false.
"An anonymous Microsoft employee claims Rock Band will in fact cost $199 as has been speculated, and that Xbox 360 owners will not be able to play the game using wireless controllers."

No HMV shenanigans here! Rock Band: Special Edition is now ready for pre-order on Amazon.com. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are available for $199 plus free shipping. they currently have it listed as shipping on Nov. 20, but as we all know, these things can change.
