Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that a five pack of tracks from AFI and singles from The Bangles and Them Crooked Vultures will be added next week to the Rock Band Music Store of Downloadable Content (DLC) for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. Mike from Project Gamers writes: Next week Harmonix brings us Rock Band gurus an AFI pack 01 including: Beautiful Theives, End Transmission, Love Like Winter, Medicate, The Leaving Song, Pt II. The AFI pack 01 will cost $8.49 or $1.99 a track. Harmonix will also bring us The Bangles – "Walk Like an Egyptian" for a Lego Rock Band family-friendly track, also available for non-Lego Rock Band owners. (All tracks are original master recordings.) Now if your a PSP owner of Rock Band don't fret (pun intended) we have you covered for two tracks next week including: Dead Kennedys – "California Über Alles" and Sleater-Kinney – "You're No Rock'n'Roll Fun". Both tracks are $1.99 each.

I don't know why Harmonix do this, but some weeks you're screwed for choice, Pearl Jam for example seem to get entire weeks worth of DLC deadicated to them, leaving anyone who isn't a massive fan, out in the cold, but then again there was a lot of NIN at the start. Anyway Queen need no introduction, and to be honest it'd be silly for me to pick a song, although Under Pressure may just nab it, simply because it has David Bowie in it. The plaintiff who sued developer Harmonix in November last year over cracking bass drum controller pedals in Rock Band has voluntarily dismissed his case, court records reveal.
In a court filing from September 23, obtained by Gamasutra, plaintiff Monte Morgan dropped a class action lawsuit against Rock Band developer Harmonix, its parent Viacom, Viacom-owned MTV Networks, the game's distributor Electronic Arts, and electronics retailer Best Buy.

AggroGamer: "You can all stop begging Harmonix to get your music on their insanely popular game now. In fact now you need to start bugging the artists and record label to get off their asses. Or even that awesome garage band next store. Just gone live today are the documentation and tools needed to use Harmonix's Rock Band Network. Well the plugins to allow for you to create the music and upload to the XBox Live, as that is the platform for the current release.
This is going to change the game in a drastic way I think. We will start to hear more and more "underground" music flowing out to the public. Making it so bands who are serious don't need to fellate Radio stations for play, but shell out around $100 bucks to get their tracks up on Rock Band for the low prices of $0.99. Not a bad shake for them."

Crazy Kiwi due Flight of the Conchords missed out on an Emmy for their now cancelled TV series yesterday, but did take time out on the red carpet to reveal that a 3 track pack from Brett & Jermaine will be headed to Rock Band at some point in the future.
When asked the guys did not know which songs would be included, but as their new album 'I Told You I Was Freaky' is due at the end of October it'd be a safe bet that at least one of those tracks will make it into the pack
