It's Saturday and that means gamesite XGN posts her weekly European Xbox Live Marketplace Roundup. Unfortunately it's not a big list like last week!
Here is the XBOX Live Marketplace Update for Thursday 10th April 2008:
Microsoft today announced that Treasure's arcade shooter Ikaruga is slated for a release this Wednesday on April 9, as was listed on Xbox Japan last month.
'N+' finally gets toppled by surprising casual juggernaught 'Brain Challenge', debuting its first full week on the charts with 26,000 units - #3rd overall for best full weeks. FPS classic 'Doom' increases units sold strongly by 110%, and Assault Heroes does very similarly.
VGChartz reports that this week, Triggerheart Excelica launched to decent numbers. Triggerheart Excelica is the 2nd ever Dreamcast game to come to the XBLA Service, with Rez HD being the first. Excelica beats previous $10 Schmup recordholder, Omega 5's debut of 6,000 units by a decent 20% increase.
These lists are based on global unique users connected to Xbox Live or in the case of Arcade, full versions purchased this week. Here are the top 3 for each charts, see the source for the complete top 10 list.
Todays Xbox LIVE Arcade release is Poker Smash, for 800 MS points. Poker Smash has seven unique game modes, with eleven immersive environments. And, if you are in the U.S. you can enter the, Poker Smash, Play & Win Sweepstakes.
Poker Smash has been confirmed for a Wednesday 6th February 2008 release.
In a press release announcing the Fall Update's Xbox Live Arcade Hits program, Microsoft also announced the next few months' upcoming Xbox Live Arcade games that are scheduled for release. As things stand right now, the next XBLA games to get released are Arkadian Warriors, Brain Challenge, GripShift, N+, Omega Five, Poker Smash, Rez HD and Sensible World of Soccer. No specific release schedule for each game has been confirmed just yet, but it's always nice to see what's headed down the old XBLA pipeline. And this list also lets us officially get excited for N+ and Rez HD.
