The new James Bond game will be developed by Spider-Man 2 developer, Treyarch, and will be the first Bond since Activision acquired the 007 license from Electronic Arts. The news comes from a job listing on the Activision website which ran "Treyarch is looking for a gameplay designer for our upcoming Bond title". dailygamesnews.com - Whilst stereoscopic functionality has been enjoyed by some PC users for a while it is something very new for console gamers who generally tend to use televisions rather than monitors. This is very unfortunate for the impending release of James Cameron's Avatar: The Game as Cameron has apparently worked very closely with Ubisoft on making it as much a visual spectacle as the film. The issue of course is that barely any televisions in retail have the 3D capability which the games 3D option requires.

"Avatar: The Game," based on the upcoming James Cameron movie, is one of the first titles to support fancy 3D effects on specially equipped TVs. Apparently you'll need more than just the TV, though.

Let's say you're a hardcore fan of the Xbox 360, and bought one at launch. Hell, let's say you bought one a year after launch. If you've got one of the early boxes, which don't have an HDMI-out, you're SOL when it comes to playing "Avatar: The Game" in 3D. Luc Duchaine, the game's senior international brand manager, confirmed today that the game will require 1080p resolution to see the 3D effects, and the only way you can get that on a 360 is through the HDMI port.

Ubisoft revealed today that actors from the new James Cameron film Avatar will voice the same roles in the game adaptation. Sigourney Weaver, not seen recently in the Ghostbusters game, will play Dr. Grace Augustine in the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PC versions of the game. Michelle Rodriguez will appear as helicopter pilot Trudy Chacon in the PC, PS3, and 360 games, which will also feature bad guy Col. Quaritch, played by Stephen Lang. Giovanni Ribisi (from My Two Dads) will appear only in the Wii version, as "the arrogant Parker Selfridge." The best news out of all of this, of course, is that none of these actors are James Cameron.

James Cameron is hoping fans will be wowed by his upcoming 3-D epic Avatar. But don't expect him to reveal any secrets from his $240 million, computer-generated opus.

"You're not going to find 'behind the scenes' extras on the DVD," Cameron says. "I think the movies aren't the big, wonderful mysteries they used to be. I don't want to see some guy in a black leotard and dots showing me how he made himself look like an animal."

He may be Hollywood's most gifted tailor of cinema and technology, but Cameron remains a pretty old-fashioned guy. Until today, the director has kept his film as secret as a birthday gift - one he plans to present with 20 minutes of footage at Comic-Con.

Ubisoft has confirmed that its first attempt at incorporating 3D technology into its games will be Avatar, the sci-fi adventure based on the 20th Century Fox movie.
