Console Monster writes: "With the launch of the dashboard update to all Xbox Live users today, Microsoft has added new titles to the 'Games on Demand' section. The new titles include the likes of Fight Night Round 3, Burnout: Paradise, Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise and Kameo: Elements of Power. Here is the full list of 'Games on Demand' added to the European Xbox Live Marketplace today:

While us lucky Europeans get 21 games to choose from, the Japanese will only have:

Each of those games will go for ¥2000 (USD$21), which might be a challenge for Microsoft, since you can find some of those games used for under ¥1000 (USD$10). Then again, others will be bargains!

As with everywhere else, Games on Demand will launch in Japan on August 11.

Surfer Girl:"1) Facebreaker is the successor to Fight Night (it did start as a Fight Night Round 4/Fight Night 08, but evolved into something more unique), but do not fear as it is does not disregard the strong gameplay of its predecessor. Unlike the terrible Prizefighter, all people who have made significant contributions to Facebreaker are actually getting paid and are credited.
2) Resistance 2 trailer next month (you are probably reading this in February, so later this month), as well seeing the game (which looks amazing) in action in non-trailer form.
3) Epicenter Studios is working on a WiiWare title for release later this year."

In between bouts of comforting our Chicago correspondent Mark Wilson over the loss of EA's Chicago studios, we've been pondering the fate of the franchise that said studio brought to life over the years. Now an inside source has spoken with a member of our staff who is SUPPOSED TO BE ON VACATION, letting him know that the Fight Night franchise at least will find a new home with EA Vancouver. Nothing yet on the fate of the Marvel fighting game or the Def Jam franchise, but perhaps they'll be taking the journey north along with their pugilistic cousin. Electronic Arts to buy stake in The9 (News)

Electronic Arts Inc. has reached an agreement with The9 Ltd. to buy a 19 percent stake in the Chinese online game operator for about $200 million, a local newspaper said on Saturday.

EA, the world's top video game publisher, and The9 have reached a basic agreement, Shanghai Securities News reported.

A representative from The9 was not immediately available for comment.

Shanghai-based The9 also obtained the exclusive right to run EA's casual game FIFA Online in China at the end of March, the newspaper added.
