360 - Dead Rising - Does Microsoft want to take over Capcom? A nice juicy rumor in this months edition of the Electronic Gaming Monthly; it is said that, after Rare, Microsoft has plans to take over Capcom as well to get more feet on the ground in Japan! It would make sense after Lost Planet and Dead Rising that were both Xbox 360 exclusive.
More about this rumour and some other nice rumours (Just Cause 2 has green light from Eidos and Konami pushing to get MGS to Xbox 360) by clicking the link below.

360 - Dead Rising - PES 6 vs FIFA 07 comes to a head Despite the on-going debate currently raging in the forums as to which game is better, the general concensus, according to the charts at least, is that PES 6 is the champion, finally overtaking FIFA for the first time in, well, ever.

After less than one week of the games being released, there is a clear winner, for week one at least. PES outsold Dead Rising "with ease", though FIFA "easily" held on to 2nd place. And before you all go screaming blind that I'm being overly biased and missing the obvious fact, I am aware that Dead Rising was released on only one platform, not the three that PES was, hence PES easily beating Dead Rising. Nonetheless, it shows just how many it has sold.

360 - Dead Rising - Konami Breaks 360 Records In UK Charts The release of Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (aka Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007) has seen Konami finally overtake Electronic Arts' FIFA series as the most popular soccer action game in the UK. The game experienced more than 23 percent more sales than the recent FIFA 07, despite being sold on significantly less formats.

Despite this, sales for the PlayStation 2 version were slightly below that for Pro Evolution Soccer 5, with the difference being made up by the Xbox 360 version. Despite controversy over excised content, compared to the PlayStation 2 game, the Xbox 360 version recorded the highest first week sales of any 360 game so far in the UK ¿ easily beating previous record holder Dead Rising.

360 - Dead Rising - G.O.W. banned in Germany A few months ago there was trouble over Dead Rising in Germany, getting into trouble for its excessive violence. Now it appears that Epic's upcoming horror-shooter, Gears of War, will be banned from the German market.
German USK, responsible for videogame ratings, refused to give the game a rating, despite several submissions from Microsoft. Microsoft and Epic decided not to make a less-violent version for the German market because it would "fundamentally change the gameplay", resulting in compatibility issues with different versions on Xbox Live.

360 - Dead Rising - Dead Rising NOT selling well in japan.. While sales of Capcom's gory zombie-killer Dead Rising have done remarkably well here in the United States, even with a Mature rating from the ESRB, in Japan where the game was recently released, copies of the games are hard to find.

As a result of recent changes to the rating system for videogames used in Japan, sales of Z-rated games - those that can only be sold to persons 18 years old and above - are being strictly enforced. Prior to the changes, ratings were used merely as guidelines to inform purchasers of the intended audience of a game.

360 - Dead Rising - Zombie Madness 101 Capcom is no stranger to the zombie genre of videogames. Their series of Resident Evil games has been by far the most popular zombie franchise in the history of gaming, with the latest installation, Resident Evil 4, earning huge amounts of acclaim from critics and gamers alike (despite technically not having any zombies in it). They've already announced Resident Evil 5 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but in the interim, they've cobbled together a nifty little next-gen zombie-killing game called Dead Rising.
