While sales of Capcom's gory zombie-killer Dead Rising have done remarkably well here in the United States, even with a Mature rating from the ESRB, in Japan where the game was recently released, copies of the games are hard to find.

Microsoft have released a list of games that will be featuring at this year's TGS. There are not many surprises, apart from the omission of the game everyone wants to see: Halo 3.
Dead Rising is officially the fastest selling title in the UK for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft according to Chart Track figures and debuts in the All Formats chart this week (w/e 9th September 2006) at number 1 beating off stiff competition from Test Drive Unlimited and Saints Row.
It seems Special Editions are all the rage these days. Oblivion had one, Dead Rising had one, Perfect Dark Zero had one, and now Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 has one, but only on the 360.

Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced its plans to expand the marketing campaign for Dead Rising, the company's first game for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The company has planned an additional $3 million national television campaign that matches the one which just concluded, doubling the overall scope of the program. The new TV campaign will support the overall extensive marketing initiative, which includes print and online advertising as well as radio promotions and retail partnerships. Dead Rising has already shipped more than 500,000 units within its first two weeks of launch and is the fastest selling next generation title for a Japanese publisher.
Capcom is no stranger to the zombie genre of videogames. Their series of Resident Evil games has been by far the most popular zombie franchise in the history of gaming, with the latest installation, Resident Evil 4, earning huge amounts of acclaim from critics and gamers alike (despite technically not having any zombies in it). They've already announced Resident Evil 5 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but in the interim, they've cobbled together a nifty little next-gen zombie-killing game called Dead Rising.
Dead Rising has been released thorughout the UK one day before its official release date which was meant to be the 8th of September, I wonder why ?

The usual "clear the cache' tricks didn't help. But, as suspected, when I removed the hard drive, things worked fine. It turns out plenty of other deadly pissed off customers have a reason to stumble back to the mall with receipt in hand"

August 29, 2006 - Today Capcom announced Dead Rising, the company's first game for Xbox 360, has shipped more than 500,000 in the two weeks since its US launch date of August 8.
