The 360 has a fair selection of Mech games, with Chromehounds already out and Lost Planet available in some regions already, and most by the end of January 2007. Still, considering the need to drive the 360 in Japan and the fact that most gamers like giant machines with guns on them that remind them of transformers a new mech game is not a bad thing. Armored Core 4 was announced for the 360 a while ago, but only now do we have an official release date of March 22nd 2007 for the game.» Read More

Third Wave Games' War World is looking all set for release on Xbox Live Arcade within the next six months we've been told this morning. This stompy robot Chromehounds in miniature PC game looks like being a sure-fire winner for the Live Arcade format. SEGA's brand-spankin' new mech title Chromehounds ( is already getting a downloadable pack on the Xbox Live Marketplace according to a SEGA site mod at the official site. It should be available on Marketplace on July 19.
The pack includes two guns, an assist part and a new color pattern for the mechs. The pack comes free, according to FromSoftware and SEGA as a "thank you:"

This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending June 30, highlights the popularity surrounding already released games, as well as giving an excellent hint as to what game titles might be popular in the future.
The week's requests from GameFly customers were dominated by titles for the Xbox 360 platform, with Sega and From Software's upcoming Xbox 360 mech combat title, Chromehounds on top for the week. Take-Two and Human Head's upcoming Xbox 360 first-person shooter Prey was the second most requested title on the chart, followed by Ubisoft's Taito-developed Xbox 360 aerial combat game, Over G Fighters.

Every week, Jesse James and a rag-tag group of shop monkeys attempt to build a beast of a vehicle nearly from scratch. Chromehounds has its own "monster" garage, albeit a bit more futuristic and high-tech than what is seen on the Disco Channel.
The Chromehounds Garage is a utopia for those that like to make a synergistic whole through a sum of parts. Many of us have construction in our DNA; from baking a cake "outside the box", to a scale model of the Bay Bridge- all in LEGO- and everything in between.
The notion of putting together a HOUND (Chromehounds's mechanized ground fighters) from a parts bin full of pieces is quite exciting for those that feel the Constucticons were the best Transformers ever. Our guess is that even those without the penchant for manufacture will find the Chromehounds garage as an addictive, never-ending quest towards HOUND perfection.

Sega has released a fresh batch of screens from its upcoming Xbox 360 robot combat epic, Chromehounds, which is due for release in spring.
The images feature two classes of Hounds - snipers and defenders - that come outfitted for their specific jobs. Snipers attack from a distance and scout enemy positions, while defenders are heavily armoured, heavily weaponed assault-lords.
