IGN writes: "After speaking with spokesperson for EA, IGN has learned a few more details on the intended pricing structure for the weapons in Battlefield: Bad Company. There has been some public outcry that EA is trying to "scam" customers as screens of the BF:BC Beta indicated that some weapons might have to be purchased off of Marketplace, thus giving some an advantage over the rest of the playing field.
Here's the real deal straight from the EA Spokesperson, "Battlefield: Bad Company will release five unique weapons free of charge through five different promotional programs prior to launch. EA will again make these weapons available to players free of charge after launch, in case anyone missed the pre-launch promotions."

Battlefield fanatics are far and wide, and while I have always believed that the series is a bit overrated, there is no doubt the series is one of the more popular first-person shooters out on the market. So if your drooling over every screenshot to come out of Bad Comapny, here is some good news for: looks like Bad Company will be keeping you indoors this summer. The game's senior producer, Carl Magnum, released some details on the upcoming shooter in a recent podcast:
"It's coming summer this year," says Magnum of the EA shooter. While he didn't give us any dates, he did say it's on track.

Geekpulp reports people have already started accessing the Beta for Battlefield Bad Company and it seems that there are already people in an outrage at something that has appeared. There is screen showing 20 locked guns, 10 of them can be unlocked through playing the game (like in CoD4) while the other 10 display the following message
"Buy this weapon on Xbox Live Marketplace"

Battlefield: Bad Company
EA has announced holiday quarter results of $1.5 billion in sales -- the largest in its history, driven by sales of Madden, Rock Band and The Simpsons, but losses of $33 million, and delays for Battlefield: Bad Company and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames to an undetermined time after spring.
The publisher's sales were up 17 percent over the year prior driven by the above titles as well as Need for Speed Pro Street, FIFA 08, The Sims 2 Castaway, and NBA Live 08. Its losses come after profits of $160 million in 2006.

Lazygamer.co.za reports: "Well this is quite sad, I just got off the phone with someone from EA Games South Africa.
It seems that Battlefield: BC has been delayed from March until June 2008 worldwide. This is apparently due to some extra polishing that the title still requires.
That or the fact that they don't want to land in direct retail competition with MGS4, GTAIV and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2¿.
Yeah March is still an exciting month but I was really looking forward to Battlefield: Bad Company."
