Battlefield and Mirror's Edge developer DICE has reiterated its commitment to its hardcore fans, saying, "we are not going casual".
"The demos of Mirror's Edge and Too Human had strong online showings in 2008, but the full versions failed to captivate Xbox Live users in the same way, according to Microsoft's annual rankings of top-played games.
Along with updating the PS3 version to support Trophies, EA released four new multiplayer maps yesterday for their explosive first-person shooter Battlefield: Bad Company. Titled the Community Choice Pack, these fresh battlegrounds are based on single-player levels from the game, and can be downloaded free of charge from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace.

Launching this morning for Battlefield: Bad Company, gamers can now download four new maps as voted on by the community, along with Playstation 3 owners receiving..
We mentioned that Battlefield: Bad Company was getting a Trophy patch soon, and we're fairly confident it's going to be today. For a list of the Trophies in the game, click here.
The Battlefield Bad Company trophy patch is now available for download. Simply insert and launch the game disc and follow the on screen instructions. This patch adds quite a large selection of content including bug fixes and those all important Trophies. The update should also contain four new multiplayer maps as voted for by you, the community. Namely: Acta Non Verba, Par For The Course, Ghost Town and Crossing Over. Check out the official website for videos of the four new maps.

Ripten reports that Variety have recently interviewed EA games label president Frank Gibeau and Dead Space executive producer Glenn Schofield, who revealed that there are sequels in the works for some of EA's biggest games. Gibeau stated that there is a "sequel idea planned" for Army of Two and a Battlefield: Bad Company. We can only hope that the sequel for Army of Two is called "Army of TwoTwo (TuTu)". Also mentioned was that a sequel to Dead Space, EA's recently released horror shooter, was already in the works, and that ideas for a Dead Space movie were in the pipeline as well.
EA is keeping interest high in its Battlefield: Bad Company game by adding new game modes (conquest) and announcing the addition of two new maps (Par for the Course and Acta Non Verba).
In the spirit of the 2008 presidential elections, Electronic Arts is opening up the Battlefield: Bad Company Conquest Mode to the voting public. EA plans to release the new Conquest Mode this fall with four maps, two of which will be determined by Battlefield: Bad Company players themselves.

Electronic Arts always seem to get the sh!t@y end of the stick when being discussed in the gaming community. Not least because of their aggressive buyout of top developers such as Pandemic, Bullfrog and such like, but also the tendency for them to invest huge amounts of money in acquiring licenses only to produce a bunch of shovelware that sits atop the festive gaming charts year in year out.

Conquest has been given a release date for August 7th now let us just hope (pray) that they hit this date as Gold Rush is getting more and more boring by the day.
