Bethesda has been working on Skyrim since 2008. The game will feature noticeably different design and gameplay mechanics from its predecessor, Oblivion, and – crucial for the fantasy lovers making up the game's fanbase – will have freakin' dragons in it. Stevi and Chaz, who got engaged at 2010's QuakeCon, have been anticipating a baby for around nine months. The child is expected to feature ten fingers, ten toes, wide-eyed newborn innocence, all the usual baby stuff. Obviously, if the arrival of the child threatens to conflict with the first glimpse of Bethesda's title, something's got to wait – and they've been looking forward to Skyrim for longer.
“During the demo, Todd Howard showed off the Frost Dragon,” recalls Skyrim player-to-be and new father Chaz. “Seeing this must have filled Stevi with so much excitement that it sent her into labor.” Figuring it might be a false alarm, the couple waited until the end of the presentation, reasoning that Stevi “is a trooper and loves Skyrim.” While the first look at Bethesda's game –which has plenty of footage available online, supplemented by more footage in the lead up to the game's November release – might have postponed the couple's acknowledgement of the impending birth, any questions as to the couple's priorities were put to rest as they rushed to hospital to get the character-creation underway. We join them in welcoming daughter Atari Lynn into the world.
