Chinese massively-multiplayer game King of the World has shattered the guilty pleasures of a whole male community, by banning any guy playing as a girl character. Female players can still opt for female characters but only if they "prove their biological sex" via a webcam. Honest.
While this raises awkward questions - just how certain does publisher Aurora need to be that the player is female? - there are no reasons given for the crackdown. We could spend whole paragraphs bemoaning the ban, and how it inflicts potential pain on hardcore players with high-level crossgender characters.
But, really, aren't we all cracking a smile at how ridiculous this is? Poor chaps.
