they forgot the game: Dead Island. In the end, they get to kill the big boss, but left the remaining people to die from either zombie attack or the nuke that was dropped off to the island. Either way, in the DLC, the big boss turns out to be a good guy mislead to be the bad guy and was killed due to the confusion.

I just wanna say, you forgot Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

The Chaos demon "wins" at the end of WH40K: Dawn of War 1

Hasn't anyone else seen the obvious, numerously repeated Transformers typo? It's Decepticons, not Deceptecons.

anyone who has bothered to read any of the halo books would know that reach doesn't get completely destroyed. the covenant are searching for relics on the planet and do so after targeting specific areas on the planet. In first strike, i believe, its been awhile since i read it, master chief goes to reach at some point after getting rescued and helps fellow spartans take out the covenant shit heads trying to find the relics they are looking for. also, if u pay attention at the end of reach the planet is fully green and looks inhabitable.

WarHammer 40,000 Space Marine... If you are used to the 40k series, then you are used to hearing that the HUMANS are the BAD guys...running around the universe killing everything for no reason... However, in Space Marine, you play the typical shit role in a space series (You are playing as human) and you win... Most of these other suggestions just seem to be alternate endings that allow bad guys to win. Not many games actually HAVE the bad guys win...

This game is probably not as well known, but Bard's Tale where your actions can mean the world would be in the hands of a demon or you defeating the demon and bringing peace to the land. But ultimately, it is up to your decisions throughout the game.

The bad ending of Cave Story where the Doctor uses the island as his floating fortress to take over the earth... Does that count?
  • Cloak_and_Dagger - June 11, 2014 12:10 p.m.

Metal Gear Solid, pretty much the whole series. Mostly because whatever happens (up until 4, at least), the Patriots win (even if someone else seems to win, too), and they definitely aren't the heroes in the games they win in.

Yup, this is what I came to say. The MGS series is pretty much a whole bunch of "Surprise! Bad guys win!" scenarios, mostly because they constantly confuse you as to who the bad guys (and good guys for that matter) really are.

Just gotta stop you there a Red Dead. Ross isn't a bad guy, he's an asshole, but he's not "the bad guy".
  • Saewulf - July 7, 2014 2:53 p.m.

How is he not a bad guy? Just because he's a lawman doesn't make him exempt from being evil. He was corrupt and killed John Marston even though John wanted to leave that life behind. He even blackmailed John to do his dirty work for him. So how is Ross not a bad guy?

-> transformers, if you haven't played it how do you know it's ass...... oh right! you must be one of the pure geniuses that magically know all about a game without ever playing it...

I like the last picture of The Giblet Woods from Fable TLC. The first Fable is like 11 years old now but it always gets a play every year. One year I remember deciding to dispense with the good guy act and see how bad I could be in the game. Basically it started with the theft of some stones from Orchard Farm, somewhere in the middle at the Area I sliced Whispers head off for some extra cash, then, even though I ran out of missions, (I was unable to stop with the bad guy act), I massacred everyone in the game(apart from Bowerstone). Does raising everything to your feet qualify as a bad guy win?

Half life 2 episode 2 the bad guys win

I seem to recall shooting myself in Singularity... ........ did nobody else do this? It was the only good ending.

What about BlazBlue Continuum Shift, when Terumi is beaten by Ragna and Terumi got rid of the Tak-ah-mech-ah-hara (probably misspelled) in a near death state. BUT if Terumi won then he would have taken the god slayer Kusanagi to, and I quote, "Kill the shit out of Amaterasu!" Either way he kills a god. Bad.

CoD ghosts has a baddie ending because at the end of the final mission, you are sat with your bro watching missiles. Look right and rorke kicks you right in the face then takes you away. During the campaign, they shoot your dad too. Sad :(

While the covenant did destroy reach they lost most of their fleet doing it. And what was left was obliterated but the destruction of installation 04
