Well, I was originally gonna come in here and mention Assassin's Creed 2, but it seems two other commenters beat me to it. So, instead I'll just say Super Metroid as a sequel to Metroid on the NES. You people can defend the original all you want, but it has aged TERRIBLY to the point where it's borderline unplayable. The bad controls, the overly stingy health system where Samus was super-fragile and health pickups were not only rare but didn't even restore all that much health (made even worse that Samus would respawn with only 20 health upon dying, where most baddies deal about 15 damage), the long corridors that all look identical to each other where navigation was a pain even with a map (and don't even get me started on the lack of maps)... it may have been groundbreaking for 1987, but it's absolutely terrible by today's standards. Super Metroid, on the other hand... now there's a game that's aged wonderfully and fixed almost everything wrong with the original. I remember playing it about two or three years ago and it held up pretty darn well. Seriously, I still think it was one of the best games on the SNES, and it's hard not to see why Retro aped a lot of the mechanics for their games (<3 Metroid Prime). Yes, I'm well aware of Metroid II's existence, but being a portable title on the GB, I never played it. Is it any good? Regardless, I'll still stand by Super Metroid as a great (console) sequel to a now-forgettable game.

u stopped talking to that guy because he had a fursuit fetish... thats pretty dumb and makes pretty much all you say irrelevent.
  • Meleedragon27 - September 5, 2012 8:40 a.m.

What the hell are you talking about? I don't remember saying anything about fursuit fetishes, at least not on this site anyway. But apparently, because I don't like fursuit fetishes, it automatically means I'm "dumb" (word of advice, don't go using that word if you're gonna make grammar mistakes like using "u" in place of "you," among others) and makes everything I say pointless. I think it is pretty relevant, especially considering how you cared enough to respond.

thats not my problem as this is the internet... you dont have to type like an essay... anyway "you" should stop being a hypocrite if youre going to be a furry AND insult someone who is also into wierd fetishes. that just doesnt add up. and then you come on this site and think can talk the talk??? be grateful that people even listen to you...

Wow. So because this is the internet, you don't feel the need to type coherent sentences that don't make you look stupid? Good luck getting anyone online to take you seriously with that attitude. Anyway, I remember the guy you're talking about - this was over at GameFAQs, right? Overlooking your illogical statement that having kooky fetishes is required to be a furry (there are so many things wrong with that sentence), I wasn't attacking him for his idiotic fetishes, it was because he took the furry thing too far and embraced everything wrong with the community: Unhealthy obsession with sex? Check. Incredibly bad with money? Check. Gleefully bragging on non-furry related boards about all the furry porn and animal dildos he bought, then throwing a hissy fit when people expressed their disgust at him? Check. Proceeds to brag about his nasty-ass fursuit sex on this same board about a month or two later, with predictable reactions? Check. Practiced date rape on his old room-mate and still sees nothing wrong his actions? Check-a-roonie! The dude was a sex offender in the making (I still think he'll wind up on the registry in a few years) and was only making us all look like sex-starved morons. Truly, I'm a horrible person for wanting to see furrydom cast as something other than a laughingstock of the internet, where even weeaboos have more credibility than us. And it would be a lot easier to get rid of these harbingers of disgrace if it weren't for pricks like you who seem to think we should welcome every damn lowlife and creeper who wants to be a part of our clique, all the while pretending everything is fine and putting on a pretty face for the public when convention time rolls around the corner. Be grateful that people listen to ME? Hah, you should be grateful people even listen to punks like YOU, with your laughable grammar and eagerness to defend everything wrong with furrydom - if it weren't for folks like you, this community would've cleaned up its act a long time ago. This conversation is over. Now do everyone here a favor and go crawl back to that cesspit FurAffinity, where you belong.

being a furry is a fetish... if youre just going to overlook that kind of logic to back up your points then go back home. i have a friend who is a furry and that is ok... hes still straight, so it doesnt matter what else happens with him in the eyes of the Lord. people like YOU make your own community look bad by shunning other people... im just trying to help by making you understand it. if you had a go at him for doing legitamately bad stuff then ok... he was just happy from when i read and you didnt like that happiness.

Red Dead Revolver -> Red Dead Redemption
  • brickman409 - September 4, 2012 9:43 p.m.

definitely, most people don't even know that Red Dead Redemption is even a sequel

I would add FF13 and FF13-2 to this. I really enjoyed 13, but could understand the hate for it. 13-2, however, blew it out of the water and is probably my favourite game of the year.

Dudes, Spiderman 1 & 2 ----> worst to best spidey game
  • brickman409 - September 3, 2012 12:35 p.m.

fallout 3? well some people say the first two were great but i say they're easy to forget after ten years
  • SDHoneymonster - September 3, 2012 12:20 p.m.

I don't actually think all that much of the first Uncharted if I'm honest - the sequel was a massive leap forward. The first one was a shooting gallery with pretty graphics, saved by Sully and his wonderful moustache.
  • SDHoneymonster - September 3, 2012 12:22 p.m.

So basically I'm saying Uncharted 2 would have been on this list if I made it, I didn't mean to just criticise the first one.
  • Kieran712 - September 3, 2012 12:33 p.m.

Eh I see where your coming from. But I think Uc1 to Uc2 makes the former seem bad compared to the latter. At the time Uncharted was extremely pretty and fairly fun to play. So it was still a solid game to begin with. Then Uncharted 2 comes out and blows it out the water making it look lame.
  • SDHoneymonster - September 3, 2012 12:39 p.m.

Just personal opinion. I'm a relative latecomer to the PS3, so I can see why perhaps it had a bigger impact when it first came out, but I was just underwhelmed by it. Pretty yes, but nothing special.
  • BladedFalcon - September 3, 2012 1:15 p.m.

That doesn't mean the first uncharted wasn't any good. It just means Uncharted 2 was a really good sequel. This list are for games that even when they came out, they were kinda meh, or bad. Doesn't really count if the original game was good, even if the sequel made it look obsolete later.
  • SDHoneymonster - September 3, 2012 1:31 p.m.

As I said, personal opinion. Just not a huge fan of the first game.
  • crazor89 - September 3, 2012 12:18 p.m.

Red Steel was one of the first games I got for the Wii after NGamer (a Future magazine I might add) gave it 90% in a review. I've never forgiven them for misleading me so...
